How long is the shoot?
- Most shoots are about an hour and a half to two hours, sometimes longer. Don't make your schedule too tight after the shoot in case we decide to do some extra shots. Also allow time for makeup and styling if needed. I can be very fast if we need to limit our time together.
How many shots do you take?
- I take as many shots as I need to take. That may be 300 or it might be over 2000. The number of shots really doesn't matter. What matters is getting the shots we need. I won't stop until we have it.
When and how can I see proofs?
- I personally select the best 5-10% of the images to show you in a private projection session about a week after the shoot. This can be done over Zoom for the moment. During this time we can talk about image selection, cropping, retouching etc. I will give you my honest recommendations, and we can talk about about where and how you want to use the photos. Clients tell me that having my opinion is very helpful. At the end of this session I will make around 20-30 proofs for you to take home to think about. I can also put the proofs online for family & friends to view.
What if I want a reshoot?
- Reshoots are very rarely needed, but in the end I want you to be happy with your portrait.
Can clients take pictures during the shoot?
- Please do not take pictures while on set. We want to be focused on making great portraits, not selfies. If you must have that instagram shot, just ask first and my assistant or I will try to accommodate you.
What if I don't want to think about all these tips?
- Pay attention to the “What to Bring” tips and show up for your shoot. I'll then just do what I do and what works that day. I will get the shot.
