The Wax Museum is a 10 year and ongoing, documentation of an American history research project of the 5th grade class at Wesley Prep in Dallas. Each student extensively researches a character from American history and then performs a biography in an authentic costume, created by their teacher Sue Herring, to fellow students and parents in a theatrical performance called The Wax Museum, transforming the tedious world of research into theatrical moments. In the days after the presentation I make portraits of the students in locations around the school and city to solidify the experience and memories. Other schools across the country do this type of project and I am looking to expand my participation to capture a wider scope. Please contact me if your school might be interested.
